Matt
Wicks has been named The Homer Laughlin China Company’s new northwestern regional sales manager, effective
immediately. He spent the last 10 years with Bargreen Ellingson Foodservice
Supply and Design, most recently serving as general manager of the company’s
Boise, Idaho, location. Bargreen Ellingson is a longtime customer of HLC.
This
is a homecoming of sorts for Matt, as he is the son of Pete and Jeannie Wicks.
Pete is vice president of HLC, and Jeannie is company co-owner and the sister
of HLC President Liz McIlvain. Matt is part of the fifth generation of family
involvement in ownership and management of Homer Laughlin. He joins fellow
fifth-generation family member Katie Bricker, HLC foodservice and general
marketing manager, who is his cousin and the daughter of Liz McIlvain.
As
northwestern regional sales manager, Matt will be responsible for a territory
covering Alaska, Colorado, Idaho,
Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon,
South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and portions of Wisconsin and
Illinois. He will work with esteemed rep groups Pro-Pacific, Johnson,
Pike & Associates, Central Marketing, and The Yes Group. Matt will be
working closely with Central Regional Sales Manager Mariko Sakurai as he
transitions to his new role.
“We’re
proud to welcome Matt into the fold,” said Scott Gibbs, general sales manager
of Homer Laughlin. “He’s spent the last decade accumulating experience in the
foodservice supply business and, with that under his belt, he will lend his
leadership and relationship management skills to our northwestern region. We’re
expecting great things.”
Matt
earned an MBA from the University of Portland. He will be based in his current
home of Boise, Idaho, but will visit HLC headquarters in Newell, West Virginia,
several times a year.
