Ms Green, who joins Royal Crown Derby after having also
worked at Steelite International, boasts 17 years’ experience in design and
hospitality, most recently working as Steelite’s Design Sales Manager for the
Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific (MEAAP), travelling globally for 10 years
to grow the world-leading tableware manufacturer’s market share in the region.
Ms Green, whose unique background combines a considerable
foundation in product and pattern design with extensive commercial sales
knowledge, will be responsible for growing Royal Crown Derby’s presence in the
global hospitality sector, raising brand awareness and driving design-led sales
by engaging existing and new clients and developing the brand’s hospitality
offering, including its upcoming collections Rumours and Exposé.
Specializing in both designing
for both shape and pattern for tableware, Ms Green has already delivered design
briefs for some of the most prestigious restaurants and hotels in the world,
including Wynn Encore, The Drake and Emirates Palace. This experience, combined
with her understanding of consumer, industry and world design trends, positions
her perfectly to take on the challenging sales and design requirements from
Royal Crown Derby’s distinguished and quality seeking clients.
Speaking of her appointment, Ms Green said: “I have always been extremely passionate about combining my ability to
creatively design and work commercially to deliver beautiful, innovative and
functional tableware to meet the exacting briefs of global clients. To have the
opportunity to bring these skills to Royal Crown Derby, one of the UK’s most
iconic brands, is the pinnacle of my career to date. Its heritage, history and
the craftsmanship of its skilled artisans represent an incredible opportunity
and I will use my unique experience to grow luxury appeal and sales in the
hospitality sector through offering innovative design and an efficient route to
market. I passionately believe that Royal Crown Derby’s bespoke service for the
hospitality industry can be a global success and I am extremely proud to be
joining the team at such an exciting time of brand re-invigoration, development
and investment. I look forward to supporting Royal Crown Derby’s Chairman,
Kevin Oakes, in achieving his long-term vision for the brand and being a
pivotal part of its bright and prosperous future.”
Kevin
Oakes, Chairman of Royal Crown Derby, added: “Royal Crown Derby’s history and heritage is built on the creation of
impeccably designed and technically challenging luxury products for some of the
world’s most discerning clients, including the Waldorf Astoria London, The
Dorchester and Wynn Casinos in Macau.
“I
believe that Nikki’s foundation in design, working in tandem with her
unrivalled commercial experience and knowledge of the global hospitality
sector, is a perfect combination that will enhance our offer and accelerate
Royal Crown Derby’s growth in the sector. Working alongside Nikki at Steelite,
I witnessed first-hand her tenacity and passion for the industry, which led to
significant growth of the Steelite brand in the Asia Pacific region and
increased revenue. Nikki epitomises what I refer to as the ‘Bulldog Spirit’ – strength,
spirit and determination – and I am confident that she will bring the same
level of enthusiasm and drive to the Royal Crown Derby brand, helping our
skilled team to drive the business forward. It’s a pleasure to be working with
her once again.”
During her 17 years in the industry, Ms
Green has developed, product from idea conception through to ordering, for some
of the world’s biggest hospitality brands, including Mandarin Oriental, Hilton,
Le Meridien and Marriott. She boasts an MA in Design Management and a First
Class Honours BA in Surface Design Pattern. Her professional experience in the
design industry spans myriad materials and products, including lighting,
ceramics, glass, fabrics and accessories.
